At 8.20 this morning.the IJnion Company's hulk Cantero was seen to be enveloped in tl'ick smoke, and ■feral boats rowed off-with men will™'to render aid- They found smoke issuing from the hatchway, and part of the bulwarks were burnt to the deck, The fire "Was.extinguished in about half an hour, and the.damage proved slight. Captain Clayton, and Lloyd's Surveyor visited the vessel and saw every pre caution taken to prevent auy fresh outbreak. The coal hulk had .on board 150 tons of Bay coal, The mystery of the affair is that nobody .had iesided on board for three months. The vessel - was only visited' in order to fix the siding lights. The fire appeared to have arisen on the deck.
