UPPER TAUERU ROAD BOARD
The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held at Bowlands on Monday November 3rd at J2 o'clock noon. Present—Messrs R, S, Hawkins (chairman) J. Wingate, O, Hood, and J. Rutherford. CORRESPONDENCE.

'"• lYonuGoneral Crown Lands Office vegrant fromOrown Lands, From Masterton Road Board enclosing resolutions passed by the delegates from the various Boards re adjustment of accounts. < RESOLVED. . On the rootionof Mr Wright seconded by Mr Rutherford that the resolution of the conferecco re adjustment of accounts be confirmed and it was ordered that the agreement be sealed.
That the Chairman make .further enquiry at the General Crown Lands Office re grant from Grown Lands. That a deputation wait on the County Coudcil to urge the necessity of taking; steps to declare the road laid off by their Engineer in continuation of the Ijidefqrd to Eketahuna-Tenui main road; and that the deputation request the Council to ensure to the 'tipper Taueru road a just share of the money to come to the Council this year under tho Roa4s and Bridges Apt. That the Council be requested to have tho work at the tipper Taueru bridge (Reese's contract) at once completed; and whether any money stand over from the first grant, That it is desirable that the Upper Tauerti Road District be constituted a separate riding aud that a petition for that purpose be: circulated amongst the ratepayers.
That the... necessary amount of stationery for the use of the Board bo procured by the Obairmiw.
That the Chairman confer with Messrs Perry and McKay as to road they desire, to be laid off to their, property, aud report to Board. That the Chairman apply for the Acts of Parliament aud other public documents to be supplied to Board. '■ That the road.leading from Glen, donsld woolshed towards Mr Rutherfords be put in order at;acost not to exceed £2. . The Chairman informed the Board of his having let the tender for road formation, (Hood's road,) to Mr T. Perry, for the sum of £4B, but as this was more than passed by the Board had expressed his willingness to pay the balance (£15.) ' He also infqrined the Board that their income for the present year would be £ll7, and having congratulated the Upper Taueru district upon having obtained three mails a week, at a saving to themselves of £5 per year, the meeting adjourned to the rjrst Monday in, December.
