Sir, —I did not contradict the statement in the 1 Sta:' re Captain Francis the other night. What I did say was that the paper had made a mistake, It is quite true a telegram was sent asking the Major to withdraw the call of Captain Francis, and a vote of confidence was passed in the meeting of one hundred to one. Instead of a memorial being sent it was a vote of confidence, I am, &c.) James Moore, [Will Mr Moore kindly explain to us the difference between " contradicting the statement in the Star," and saying " that the paper had made a mistake." What David said in his haste is apparently appropriate for even members of the Salvation Arm v -Ed. W,D.] '
