CHURCH CULLINGS.

At one of Mrs Hampsou's recent services at Sandhurst it was anuounced that over 280 requests for prayer had been received. These, included seven special cases, which she mentioned separately. The first request was for a hnsband, tbe next for two sona, and the third for the Y, M.O.A. The uexfc request read out was " that a prayer be offered up for the dear reporters who attended the meeting daily, but who were as yet unsaved." r No sooner had the good lady made the announcement than a unanimous and hearty "Amen" went up from the assembled throng. The scribes present were visibly affected by this expression of kindly feeling and regard for their spiritual welfare, but were rather uncertain as to whether the corJial " Amen," with which the request was received, betokened that they were regarded as being worse sinners than those mentioned in other cases, or whether it was a sign of the good feeling which exists between them and the public.-'The World. 1 If the congregation of the Scots' Church, Melbourne, succeed in carrying through Parliament the Bill for the detachment of that charge, with all the property appertaining, to it, from the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, they will give a call to their favorite pastor, the Rev. C, Strong. Within two months the House of Lords has had two Roman Catholic accessions—tho Earl of Abingdon and Lord North, both converts.
