*—.<— [By Telegraph.] In the Legislative Council the Colonial Secretary said he believed Natives were opposed to Te Kooti's visit to Wairoa and Poverty Bay and the Government were taking steps to prevent it. The Religious Charitable and Educational Bill, the Sharebrokers' Amendment Bill, the Chatham Island Animal Bill, Employment of Females and Others Bill, the Wellington College Reserves Bill, the Honorarium Bill, and Public Health Bill were read a second time. The Salmon Trout Bill and Timaru Market Reserve Bill were passed.
