CURIOUS CASK OF AN INVALID. a. case which has excited some interest iu in Rhodes during the past <veek is that of a man named John Thompson, of- Church Street, who has had a w- nderful partial recovery of the use of his limbs by a medicine known as Hop Bitters. Ho formerly worked for Mr (J. W, ISricrly, at Anodes House. About 13 yrar's ago ho strained himaalf with lifting but little notice was taken of tho same at the time, but he graduully >;rew worso and became unalle lu feed, dress, or move himself iu bed, becoming really helpless. • He tried several doctor, and the Royal Infirmary three. times, but was diEch'irged incurable. Ho was in a helpless condition for 11 years. About tou weeks ago he was persuaded to try Hop Bitters, During tho first bottle, to uso his own words, h° " felt a queer sensation. all over his body," aud Bince then he has been improving; he can now feed himself a little, put his arms at the top of: his head, move his legs about, but is nt,t yet quite able to Btaiid, He can sit up in bed, or in a chair for five or six hours., or he can raiso himself up. On Monday ho was' taken out in a fruit cart belonging to a person named Stevenson, and went as far as Prestwich, and tho difference between being in bed so. long a time and then outside was so great that ho could not describe his feelings.' His change was so remarkable that-many per sous who had known him to be bedfast so long, and had heard of his great change, butwero sceptical about the truth of it, paid him a visit on Monday evening - Middleton Albion, June 7, 1884,' ■

I consultod several doctors'and they told me it-was' incurable and I would have to take it .with me in the gravo. Some time ago I lost my appetite, .was costive, had'headache, aud fever, in faotwaß'very sick, I saw in the German 'Democrat' that Hop Bitters was whit I needed.' I got a bottle, took it one week and was as well again as ever, and to my greatest'surpriso right from the firsfc.'my swelling' went down gradually and taking another bottle got entirely well of it. The wife of my neighbor had two' such swollings on her lege.and three bottles cured her. .1 think this is a great triumph for your bitters." • ■ JohnStoll, No. 4 Youngs Alloy,' above Willow street, Allston, Boston, Mass, Aug, 14, 'B3. I came near losing my life. My .trouble always carao after eating my food, no matttr how light and digestible it' was • ]?or two or three hours at n time I had to go through the moat excruciating pain's, and the only way I ever got relief was by throning up all my stomach contained, Ko one can conceive the pains I had to go through, until at last I was taken so that for three weeks I lay in bed, Could eat nothing. My sufferings were so that I called iu two doctors to seo if they could give me something that would stop the pains, but their efforts were no good to me, At last I read a good deal about Hop Litters, and determined to try them. Got a bottle-in four hours I took the contents of one. Next day I was out of bed and have not seen a sick hour from the same cuiiso since. I have recommended it to hundredi<[; you have no such advocate as I am * * * Geo, Kendall, The above testimonials are from among thousands received.
