In the report of the meeting of the Masterton Road Board in our issue of Monday last there was an error in relation to the application of certain settlers on the East Coast for road diversion. The paragraph in our issue to which wo refer should read-" The Engineer was instructed to inspect the sameatlhe expense of the applicant" and also—"A petition was received signed by the settlers, that No. 5 ward be divided into two wards, but the applicatiou was not entertained." Two of Mr Hannah's _ sons were passing down the rotUl driving in' a dray drawn by oue horse, and when opposite St. Mark's Church they were met by Mr Proctor riding on a trioycle, on seeing which the horse shied off the road and caosized himself and the dray into the ditch which, fortunately, is rather wide just there The Messrs Hannah managed to jump from tho cart just in time to save themselves, otherwise the result might have been more serious, As it was we believe the damage was comparatively small, A concert was given at the Oddfellows' Hall, Festherston, on Monday evening last in aid of the Organ Fund of the Wes" leyan Chapel. I cannot, writes a correspondent, congratulate the committee on the order that was kept during tho evening, the singers being continually annoyed by interruptions by boys stamping with their feet and otherwise misbehaving themselves, and I might draw the attention of committees in getting up these entertainments in future to the advisability of closing the gallery altogether, It is far better to refuse their money than that the lady and gentlemen amateurs and the audience should be annoyed and insulted as they were the other night.
