An accident happened with last night's train. After leaving Daletield en route for Masterton, it ran down a bullock which was on the line. The engine went over the poor brute, and the three luggage vans and the carriages followed its track over the carcase, one after another, with a jerk ! jerk ! I jerk 111 which created quite a scare amongst the pas-, sengers.
Mr Callcott, from the Public Works Department, is now in Masterton for the purpose of paying the wages claims on O'Malley & Pepperell's contract, conceded by the Government. The Court Loyal Enterprise, A.0.P., held their quarterly summoned meeting in the Foresters' Hall last night, The attendance was very large.
