PAHYATUA ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Board was held on I Saturday, September 6th. Present—--1 Messrs McCardle (Chairman), Hal', 0. Avery, Crewe, and H, Sedcole. [ Outwards—To Treasury, asking what amount of land fund was due to the district; to Commissioner of Crown Lands, asking lor conditions upon which deferred land monies were paid over to the Board ; to Mr Rhodes, re his application to purchase road line. Inwards From Treasury, stating that on August 23rd there was £959 10s 6d to the credit of the Board; from Commissioner Crown Lands, containing information asked for, also map of the Pahiatua Road Board District; from Whitcome Bros., asking to have slips removed on Englet field road; from Mr Baucke, asking for bushJtoe felled on road line leading to bisection, and offering to do it on terms; from Mr Rhodes, enclosing fljfco. from Crown Lands Office re purchase of road; also a circular from Mr W. Badger, asking for information to assist him in the compilation of a book on local Government. Proposed by Mr Avery, seconded by Mr Sedcole—That a Works Committee be formed, to consist of the Chairman, Messrs Davie, H. Sedcole, Crewe, and ' the mover.—Carried. Proposed by Mr Sedcole, seconded by Mr Avery—That to enable the Board to claim the money now lying to their credit in the Treasury another set of plans of proposed works be obtained from Mr Whitcombe and forwarded to Crown Lands Office for their approval; that a tracing of road into Baucke's be obtained ; and, also, that the Englefield road be inspected with a view to repairs—the carrying out of the above to be placed in the hands of the Works Committee, with power tojjk—Carried. NResohW— That Mr Rhodes be wi to, informing him the Board power to sell; also, that the firman obtain a common seal for < the Board. Mr Crewe gave notice that he would move at next meeting—That in future timber falling on any road, whether felled, burnt, or blown down, to be immediately cleared by occupier, owner, or Board, at owner's expense. The meeting then adjourned.
