GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS. Passengers can bo booked at Stations only on condition that there is room in the Train. Children under three years of age travel free; above three and nnder twelve voMs of age, half-price. Horses, Carriages, &e,—The Railway De fwrtment does not undertake to fonvard Horses and Carriages by any particular Train, but when sent they must he at the forwarding station balf-an-hourbeforethe des ]i irture of the Train. The owners of horses must provide means for pouring them in the li-iraebox, and the Railway Department will not be accountable for any injury sustained through their breaking loose or otherwise, nor will it undertake to oarry unbroken or vicious Horses, At Country Stations requisitions forhorse boxes or carriages trucks must be made the day before tiiy mi! wanted. ' . , Dogs must be provided with chains, or other sufficient means of securing them. They will not be Bllowed in carriages, and the owner must obtain a ticket, to be given up before the end of tho jonrnoy. before the dosj is delivered, Return or Periodical Tickets will not be available for Special or Excursion Trains, except the Ordiuary Time Table is suspon tied Parcels and Goods for Pipitea, Kaiwarra, Ngahauranga, Belmont, Harvard's, Silver Stream, WallaCeville, Summit, Cross' Creek, Pigeon Bush, Fernside, Woodside, and at J lag Stations, must be Prepaid, and will be put out on the platforms of those Stations at the risk of tho Consignee, Special Notice-To ensure despatch, I'.ircels, Extra Luggage, and Dogs must be at the Station at least Thirty Minutes before advertised time of departure of Train. The Railway Department does not pledge itsolf to the despatch or arrival of the Trains at the exact times notified in the above Tableß, and in 'the event of any cirsumBtaucea arising either during or prior to the journey being made which may render it impossible or inexpedient for a Train lo proceed, will return the Fares paid, but does not undertake to forward the paasengera. Luggage.—Each passenger is allowed to take 1121bs of personal luggage free (not including merchandise of any kind), and for every. 561bs above this weight, for every 5o miles or fraotion of 50 miles, the charge will be One Shilling, No luggage will be allowed to be taken into the carriages, unless of Bach :i size that it can be placed under the seat without inconvenience to other passengers. Passengers are strongly recommended to liavo their Names and the station to which they ate proceeding distinctly marked on their Luggage, ana to satisfy themselves that it is placed on the Train, as the railway Department will not be responsible unless it is booked and paid for. Parcels and Goods—From the above Sta tions can be made " To Pay" at Wellington I'etoni, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Kaitoke J?eatherston, Greytown, Carterton, and Mas tertou.
