TO THE RATEPAYERS OF THE BOR. OUGHOFMASTERTON, T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN. -In ■*-" response to a large and influentia requisition I have much pleasure in offering my services aa your representative. The 'following are my views on some leading 'local questions:Gas,—lf possible should be supplied by, a local co-operative consumors company, without Wellington or any other ontside | assistance. Diuinagb, etc.-A small loan would, I consider, be necessary for a drainage and sewage scheme, to that the public health may be protected. The powers of tho Sanitary Inspector should be increased and a public scavenger appointed. Water Snppn.—Masterton is so wel. supplied with water that an expensive scheme is unnecessary. For fire prevention the Brigade need encouragement rather than an increased supply of cold water from the Council. Streets.—The streets in the outlying parts of the Borough have not received the attention they deserve. Thoso on the schedule already published by the Council should be completed at once. Borough OvEßDßArr.—This I would endoavor to wipe off and save three to four per eent interest by raising a moderate loan. If time and opportunity permits I intend to invite you to meet me, and lay my view ß on these and other questions more fully before you. lam, Lndits and Gentlemen, Youis Most Obediently, 1773 WALTER EAPP, TO THE BURGESSES OF MASTERTON.
