TO TFE RATEPAYERS OF THE: BOROUGH OF MASTERTON. T ADIES AND GENTLEUENHavrng been requested to allow myself to be nominated for a Beat at the Council, and finding I will have sufficient time at my disposal, I have much pleasure in responding j and soliciting your suffrages at the approaching annual election, If returned I can only assure you that I shall endeavor to expend your rates on works of utility, and in other respects I shall strive to promote the prosperity of the Borough by helping, as far as practicable, every useful movement, I am, &c.,' -. 1773 THOS. P. GIBDWOOD.

TO THE RATEPAYERS OF THE BOR-. OUGH OF MASTERTON, T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN. -lu response to a large and influentia requisition I have much pleasure in offering ray services as your representative. The. following are my views on some leading looal questions :- Gab,—lf possible should be supplied by a looal co-operative consumers company, without Wellington or any other outside assistance, Drainage, etc.—A small loan would, I consider, be necessary for a drainage and sewage, scheme, eo that tho public health may bo protected. The powers of the : Sanitary Inspector should be increased and a public' scavenger appointed. Wateb Supply,—Masterton is so wel supplied with water that an expensive scheme is unnecessary. For fire prevention the Brigade need encouragement rather than an increased supply of cold water from .the Council. Stbeet3.—The streets in the outlying parts of the Bortmgh have not received the attention they deserve. Those on the schedule already published by the Council Bhould be completed at once. BobodghOveedraft.—This I would en. deavor to wipe off and savo three to four per cent interest by raising a moderate loan. If time and opportunity permits I intend to invite you to meet me, and lay my views on these and other questions more fully before you.
