(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Thursday. The capital of the Auckland gas company has been increased by the issue of 35,000 £6 shares. The young man Barlow, who was killed at Bird Grove, would have succeeded to £13,000 worth of property in Manchester on attaining his majority. The plant for the Onehunga works arrived by the lonic. The quarantine passengers of Waihora complain bitterly of the accommodation at the quarantine station, The Hawera is still aground, Napier, Thursday. At a meeting of the Board of Health last night a letter was read from Dr Jackson at the quarantine station that the patient is progressing favorably. The Mayor said it was intended to release the hospital from quarantine as soon as it was known that all persons there were vaccinated successfully. The Mayor read the following telegram from the Premier:—"Major Atkinson sonds you his best thanks for the prompt and very judicious steps you have taken in the matter of the smallpox patient, and hopes that the result may be as successful as they deserve. He has no suggestion to make where everything possible Beems to have been done,"
