This afternoon the remains of a Crimean veteran, Sara].-Wilson, one of the Six Hundred, were interred in the Addington Cemetery, Wilson, who was 50 years of age, was a trooper in the Bth Hussars at the time of the famous ehaarge, but rose to the rank of sergeant-major. Up to his last illness he was employed at the railway work--shop. o . He was buried without military honors, but a large number of bis fellow-workmen and others followed his remains to the grave, ami the funeral, cortege was headed by the Addington workshops band playing the "Dead March in Saul.'-' Gisborne, Friday. Early this morning a fire broke out at a store at Makarakara, a town four miles from Qisbome, owned byLD. Nathan, of Auckland, and occupied by D. Mui'chie, formerly of Invercargill. The place was completely gutted, nothing being saved, It is supposed that the fire was caused by a spark from' the fireplace or a piece of wood falling out. The insurances on the stock are, Victoria £IOOO, South British £SOO, Standard £SOO, The building waa insured by Nathan for £550, but the office is unknown,
