Commenting upon the recent meeting in London in favor of the extension of the franchise to womeu, at which Miss Jane Cohden was one of the speakers, a correpondent says,-"Lady Haberton spoke towards the end of the meeting, and I was very much amused to notice how, directly she rosß, all the ladies present, taking no heed of her words, bent forward to get a good view of the divided slfirt. But indeed they could not see that it was in any way different from an ordinary dress, for the division is not discernible to the spectator. Lady Haberton wore the divided skirt, of course, because she never wears anything else, and her figure was straight up and down, without the slightest attempt at a waist, for she has no belief in waists, and is doing what she can to put them down. Yet she looked very handsome and very bright, and Iter dress was exceedingly pretty. A gentleman who Bat by her side, and who was, I was told, Lord Haberton, seemed very happy, too, and very proud of her. He was evidently not much troubled in his mind because his wife wore a divided skirt." The sweet aspect of Miss Jane Oobdon, says another lady correspondent, would win hor applause without the prestige of her father's name,
