GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS. Passengers cnnlio booked at Stations only on condition that there is room in the Train. Children under three years of age travel fieo; above three and under twelve years of age, half-price. Horses, Carriages, &c—Tho Eailway DoE&rtment does not undertake to forward [orsea and Carriages by any particular Traiu, but when sent they must be at the forwardine station lialf-au-bourbeforothe des parture of the Traiu. The owners of horses must provide means for neciuing them in the horsebox, and the Railway Dnwtment will not be accountable for any injury sustained through their breaking loose ur otherwise, nor will it undertake to carry unbroken or vicious Horses. At Country Stations requisitions forhorse boxes or carriage trucks must be made the day before tiny are wanted. Dogs must be provided with chains, or other sufficient means of securing them. They will not be allowed in carriages, and the owner must obtain a ticket, to bo given up before the end of the journey, before the dog is delivered, Baturn or Periodical Tickets will not.be available for Special or Excursion Trains, except the Ordinary Timo Tablo is suspense
Parcels and Goods for Pipitea, Kaiwarra, Ngahaurangn, 'Belmont, Hayward's, Silver Stream,'Wallacoville, Summit, Cross' Creek, Pigeon Bush, Fernside, Woodside, and at Flag Stations, must bo Prepaid, and will be put out on the platforms of those Stations at the risk of the Consignee. Special Notice-To ensure despatch, Parcels, Extra Luggage, and Dogs must ho at the Station at least Thirty Minutes before advertised time of departure of Train.
The Railway Department does not pledge itself to the despatch or arrival of the Trains at the exact times notified in -the above Tables, and in the event of any eirsnrastances arising either during or prior to the journey being mado which may render it impossible or inexpedient for a Train lo proceed, will return tho Funs paid, but does not undertake to forward the passengers,
Luggage.—Each passenger is nllowtd to take 1121bs of personal luggage freo (not in eluding morchandiso of any kind), and for every 561bs abovo this weight, for every 5o miles or fraction of 50 miles, the charge will be One Shilling, No luggage mil be allowed to be taken into the carriages, unless of Bach a Bize that it onn he placed tinder the seat without inoonvenience to othor passengers. Passengers are strongly recommended to have their Na.nes and the station to which they ate proceeding distinctly marked on their Luggage, and to satisfy themselves that it iB placed on the Train, as the railway Department will not Irresponsible unless it is booked and paid for.
