EARLY CLOSING.
To the Editor, Sir.—l was reading a local in the Evening Post laet week that the drapers of Wellington had decided to close their shops every Saturday night at nine o'clock, which is a very commendable plan, and if some of the drapers of Masterton were to follow bo good an example it would be & step in the right direction, I don't mean they should close their shops; particularly at that houa on (Saturday nights, as, in a place like Masterton it perhapß might not be quite convenient, bnt other nights in the week I am sure thoy would manage to olose earlier and give their assistants an opportunity of having part of the'evening for themselvos. Most people can do their shopping before eight o'clock, / and I don't think many ladioa oare to go after that timo, Hoping tint drapers (sill Jopk upon this in a reasonable ligpt, I am, Ac., For Early Closing.
