A.quantity of.stone, the like of which for its rich gold-bearing properties has never been equalled at Keefton, was brought down from the Cedar Creek reefs on Saturday. Since then .twenty-four shares have been constantly changing bands at ,£SO. A company was floating last night with a capital of £24,000, and men in its employ have left to-day to get out the quartz, so as to have it.ready by the time the battery is finished, Immense enthusiasm prevails. Some of the', .pieces of stone were studded with globules of gold some as large as peas, Yesterday, a trial crushing of the stone showing gold was made in the presence of somp lending Greymouth quartz-reefers, and it yielded highly payable results. The stone was obtained from the William Tell company, The Excelsior Company, peg and peg with the above-named, have got the reef, and are busily getting out stone to-day. A piece of stone from tbe.lattei! was crushed and. yielded at the rato of Boz to tho : ton. Fresh ground is being rushed, :'~
Boss, Juno 25. Mr Kilgouv lias visited the reefs, and reports the quartz equal to any yet discovered, the specimens being very rich, A prospectors' company is being formed with Mr Crofts as secretary. ■ ________
