The Imperial Treasury is opposing the application made by the Bank of South Australia for an extension of its present charter. The ground of opposition is that the application includes a clause which limits the liability of shareholders in regard to the issue of notes,'

The new Oriental Bank Corporation prospectus, of which a copy was issued last week, has been formed under the limited liability statute. It is probable that some efforts will bo made to secure /a portion of the. Australian business of the late corporation.
