The Supreme Court to-day was occupied with the case of Wright v George Balsell, claim £250 for publication of an alleged libellous letter. The defendant, a schoolmaster, wrote the letter complained of—a very extraordinary communication —to Miss Stewart, a teacher in one of our city schools, warning her against marrying plaintiff. Defendant said he had written at the request of the girl's mother.. It appears Wright married the girl against the wishes of her parents. -Mr W. Watten,-a member of the local Press, will oppose Mr Green for Dunedin.
