Con'sidine, complaining that the' Board had cleaned out part of theroad drainat Kaiwaiwaiand notpassed hia land, and objecting to anyone draining into ihe road drain, Resolved, that Mr Comidine be informed, that ijia,Bnavd only clean out such drama as they think require to be oleaned for the safety ot the road, but are not responsible for draining the lands of the settlors.

\ From the Ranger, complaining of cattle being rescued wheti he was taking to the pound, and wishing to know wh«\ • he should do.in case of a horse tethered at the roadside. The Ringer was instructed to summon any person rescuing cattle. The owner of horses tethered at the roadside to be proceeded against for obstruction. Mr S, Warren's lender for forming ' at South Featherßton was accepted at 14s per chain ..'■■;■.
For Wall's cutting G. Wall's tender at 7d per cubic yard was accepted. . Mr Dick's tender for digging a drain at Tnhitarata was considered too high; Mr T. Warren obtained the contract privately for metalling at Turanganui at 32s 6d por chain,
Messrs Jackson and Anderson waited upon the Board as a deputation in respect to the cotton wood on the Underbill road and the formation of ihe road at ihe railway crossing. Matter was referred to get the cotton wood removed, and 20 chains of theroad formed. The Clerk was instru'clel to take the necessary steps to apply for a loan for Phillips and Dudding's line. The Engineer was instructed to lay off a road through section f>7, Ahiaruhl block as a division of the old road iu accordance with Mr Wall's offer.
It was tesjlvod to deepen the drain on the district road from the.mill bridge upwards, to reduce the fall and assist in draining off the wator, , The culvert bolnw the terrace was ordered to be repaired hut not removed. Mr Mathews was allowed to put men on to put tho Western Lake road into proper order, Mr Smith's application for a load of sawn timber was granted.
It was resolved that in fuluro the Warden's expenses for luncheon bo paid for by the Board. ■ •• The Board wont into committee to receive the opinion of the solicitor respecting tho case of tho Board v. E. Harris, touching the mad through section 85 It 1 waß rpßolied to authorise the Chairman to come to terms iu the case.
