Michael Molloy was charged with obstructing Constable O'Connor in the execution of his duty. P. C. O.'Connor said that defendant came to him when •he was arresting the prisoner, John Dowd, but Constable Harnett would b# able to prove tho charge. , P. 0. Harnett called, said that about quarter past eight last night tho accused made several attempts to rescue Dowd from P. 0. O'Connor. A man named • Miller . was called and said about quarter to eight last night lie saw defendant and asked him to come away, but defendant said he wanted to see his mate, Dowd, and would rater go in the cells than leave his mate..

P. C. Harnett recalled, said that the defendant did not use any violence to Constable O'Connor, and 'his conduct seemed to have' been the cause of excitement.
