RITUALISTIC SERVICES.
"A correspondent of the 'Victorian Banner' tells a story of the absurdities to which Ritualists descend, If the same things weie done by clowns in a circus they would provoke roars of laughter, This is what he says:—" I .will-just cite an instance or two of /certain Ritualistic transactions in Oxi'ford.' Of the truth of these doings I pledge my honor. A. ladies' school had several of the pupils confirmed nt St Philip's and St James' Church, in Osford. An iron fence or arudo screen, with gates in the middle, separates the chancel from the congregation, those taking the sacrament take it at these gates, and one of the newly-confirmed candidates being nervous dropping the cup on the floor, down went one of the curates, down went one of the nuns (there is a largo convent attached to the church)'on to their knees and lapped the wine off tho floor, to the intense amasement and amusement of the congregation. At St. Barnabas' Church, in the same city, on Palm Sunday, the Rev Father N rode round the church, inside, on a donkey, while his curates and.satelites attended him."
