ROUND THE CORNERS.
. [to TUE.editor:] Sir,— Sbm<j few'days ago I saw a letter in your"paper headed, " Where are the Polico '}■ i I am going to ask, ".■Where is the Inspector of Nuisances 1" whose duty it is supposed to bo to see that no breach of..the Borough by-laws is committed. I believe there is a bylaw which proyid.es a penalty for riding or driving round-the corners of streets at.a faster pace tliair- a walk, yet day after day I see persons driving or riding at a fust pace round the corners—not: only in the less populated parts of thoBorough, buteye.n in the very centre of the town, 1 "Nor is this dangerous ■ practice confined :tp the day time, as I have' frequently seen it at night also. the, night, before lastl saw a man drive round the,JPost Office corner at a very smart trot, at ajjout -half-past nine O'clock, just after the night 'train had come in, and people \yi3ro at. the Post Office-getting theirJetters,,.. would' suggest that the Borough Inspector should iie furnished; at the expense of the Council, with two pairs of spectacles, one for day, and the other for night time, as his poor sight appears to be failing hiin very-fast. •" .' ' I am, 4c., • -;:jf-fK ; iif'.'H. 'Resident;:"!
