FERNRIDGE SCHOOL EXAMINATION.

The animal examination of tbis school was conducted dy the Inspector, Mr Robert Lee, on Monday and Tuesday last, Of the 107 children attending school, nil those who were eight years of age, or who lmd previously passed a standard were presented for examination none were withheld. The school during the past year has been worked under more favorable conditions than during the preceding year, a new class room having been built and an additional pupil-teacher appointed; and, in consequence, the examination results have been unusually good. At the eon-' elusion of the examination, Mr Lee expressed himself as being highly pleased with the good work done. °He said that there were scarcely any failures, and those who had failed had not done so without good cause. He announced that 97 per cent, of the candidates had passed, and thought that this was the higfyst percentage yet recorded under the Wellington Edu'cation Board. The children not only passed, but passed well, Wednesday was proclaimed a holiday. The following table shows the number that was presented and the number that passed in each standard:—
