The market is strong, Malting barley is steady'at 4s 3d to 4s 7d; New Zealand oats are in fair demand at 2s 5d to 2s 8d for feeding and 2s lOd for milling qualities. Consols remain at 102, and New Zealand securities as follows: 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 103; 5 per cent, 1888 loan, 105; 4£ per cent. 18891804 loan, 100|: 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 100. The market rate of discount has further fallen to 2|, and" is now f below the bank rate; There are no changes to .report in the markets for. colonial breadstuffe and tallow. SYDNEY,. The Electoral Reforms Bill was under consideration on the motion for its second reading in the House of Commons last night. Lord John Manners introduced an amendment of which he gave notice on the 4th insfc., setting forth that the proposed reform was unacceptable without a bill'for the redistribution of seats. The debate was announced. on. the motion and lasted throughout the sitting, The house is expected to divide on the amendment early next' week. I /SYDNEY,.. ■ Wednesday. In the Legislative' Assembly last night a motion was passed to the effect that before any Bill for the constitution of a Federal Council in Australia is passed into law by-the'lmperial Parliament, such measure" must he submitted to the. Parliament of this colony.
