Open to horses, the bona fide property of working men employed in the district for three months previous to the dite of races, and owned by them for a similar period, and which have never started for other than hack races, LADIES'PURSE, of 30 sovs, second horse 2 sovs, About 1| miles, Welter weight for age, Nomination 2 sovs. FORCED HANDICAP, of sovs, About 1 mile, Nomination 1 sov, RULES AND REGULATIONS. To he run under the Wairarapa Jockey Club Rules. The Saddling Bell will ring at 11,30 each day, and the first race start at 12 o'clock. The time for starting each event will bo duly posted on the course after each preceding race, do person will be allowed to enter a horse for any race (hack races excepted) unless lie do a subscriber of at least £1 to the race fund. Three entries or the public money will be vithheld, No scratching of horses allowed, unless tough the secretary, and fifteen minutes Mfore the time of starting, The starter lias the power to place fractious or kicking horses, or disobedient jockeys in udv position he thinks necessary to secure a fair start, All entries to he made in writing, sealed and addressed to the secretary, entrance money enclosed, with name, age at time of entry, and pedigree of the hoise, name of the owner, ami colors of the rider. In all nominations fur handicaps the previous performances are to he |:iveii. No entry will be received for any of tinraces except upon this condition: That uli disputes and objections aiising out of the races shall be decided by a majority of the stewards present, or those whom they ma. appoint, Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be linal. In case of a protest, the same must be lodged with the secretary within fifteen minutes after the race is run, with a deposit of £2, such deposit to be forfeihd if the protest be found trivial or vexatious.
All district races District Hurdles, Ladies' Bracelet, included, are open only to homes within the boundary of the Taueru river, Hat Point, and Waimata streams, and owned by bona fide residents for three months previous to the dale, of these races. Nominations for handicaps, general entries, and acceptances will he received by the secretary at the Tinui Hotel on the following dates:—Nominations for all handicap races at 8 p. m, on Tuesday, February 19th; Weights declared (except for Forced Handicap) at the Club Hotel, Masterton, on Saturday, February 23rd, at 9,30 p,m,, and published on Monday, February 25th. Acceptances and general entries close on FRIDAY, 29th February, at 7 p.m. Weights for Forced Handicap declared on course after District Handicap is run. A penalty of 71bs to be carried by the winner of any Maiden Plate after entry for these races. No entry will be received after hours and dates mentioned either by letter or telegram. A " flack" hone is one in actual use as a hack, which has not been in training for six months previous to the meeting, and which has not, duriug that period, been nominated for, entered for, or run for other that hack races.
