The Saddling Bell will ring at 11.30 each day, and the first race start at 12 o'clock. The time for starting each event will bo duly posted on the course after each preceding race. No person will be allowed to enter a horse for any race (hack races excepted) unless lie So a subscriber of at least £1 to the lace fund. Three entries or the public money will bo vithlield, No scratching of horses allowed, unless through the secretary, and fifteen minutes )eforo the time of starting. _ The starter ha 3 the power to place fractious or kicking horses, or disobedient jockeys in any position lie thinks ncccssaiy to secure a fair start, All entries to be made in writing, sealed and addressed to the secretary, entrance money enclosed, with name, age at time of entry, and pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. In all nominations for handicaps the previous peiformauces are to be f.;iveu. All jockeys to ride in proper racing costume, and any jockey riding except i i colors entered will be lined 2 soys. No entry will be accepted un'ess aceom panied with the amount of entrance money Nor will any entry be received after the hour named under any pretence whatever, No entry will he received for any of tin: races except upon this condiii.n: Tlmt. nil disputes and objections aiding out of the races shall be decided by a majority of the stewards present, or those whom they maj appoint. All dislriet races District Hurdles, Ladies' Bracelet, included, are open only to horses within tho boundary of tho Taneru river, I<]at Point, and Waiaata streams, and owned by bona fide residents for three months previous to the dalb of these races, Nominations for handicaps, general entries, and acceptances will be received by the secretary at the Tinui Hotel on the following dates:—Nominations for all handicap races at 8 p.m, on '.Tuesday, February 19th; Weights declared (except for Forced Handicap) at the Club Hotel, Masterton, on Saturday. February 23rd, at 9,30 p,m,, and published on Monday, February' 25th. Acceptances and general entries close on FRIDAY, 29th February, at 7 p.m. Weights for Forced Handicap declared on course after District Handicap is run, A penalty of 71bs to be carried by the winner of any Maiden Plate after entry for these races. No entry will be received after hours and dates mentioned cither by letter or telegram. .. A" Hack" horso is one in actual use as a hack, which has not been in training for nix months previous to the meeting, and which has not, duriug that period, been nominated for, entered for, or run for other that hack races.
