WAIRARAPA JOCKEY CLUB.

A meeting of the Wairarapa Jockey Club was held yesterday, Messrs J. P. Russell John Drummond, and W, (J. Buchanan.were elected trustees to represent the Club in the lease from Mr T. Kempton. The Champagne Stakes for 1885 was increased from £IOO to £l6O, and the District Produce from £125 to £2OO, both races to include 25 sovs to tho breeder of the winner, £25 to second, and £lO to third horse. Gabble and Shamrock wero declared ineligible to race at the forthcoming Autumn meeting both having ran as hacks since tho passing of the rule Inst May which debars racehorses from rutting for hack races and afterwards being engaged as race horses. The nomination tees tire to be returned.
