THE SELWYN ELECTION.
CiiMSTCiiuitCH, February 8. Mr John McLachlan and Mr Edward Wakefield were nominated at Leeston to-day to represent the electoral district of Sclwyu. About 150 persons were present, and the. proceedings were rather lively. The show of hands gave Mr Wakefield 65 votes, and Mr McLachlan 39,
