R.M. COURT.
GREYTOWff.-TUESDAY. (Before H, S. Warden, RM.) Constable Eocleton v J. Read- and G. Bishop—charged with having stolen four turkeys, the property of MrH. E Jackson. Defendants admitted having taken the,turkeys,, but said they thought as they were on the hills' they were wild, Tho defendants said they were quite willing to pay for them. On this being done Mr Jackson said he had no desire to press the charge, and the information was allowed to be withdrawn, Mi- Jackson instructing that the money should be paid over to the Hospital, Constable Eccleton v E. G. Braggins. Defendait was charged with having damaged the telegraph wires on the road near Gireytown. The damage was done by a May polo affixed to the conveyance driven by defendant coming in contact with'the wires. Defeudant admitted the fact, but said as the wires were not eighteen feet from the ground he was not liable. Correspondence from Dr Lemon relative to the height the wires should be from the ground was produced, and it being admitted that the wires were not 18ft from the' ground, the information was withdrawn. Constable Eccleton v J. Strawbridge. -Drunk on the highway while in' charge of a horse. , Constable Eccleton v J. and T. StrawbrHge.-Assaulting and resisting the police. These cases after being partially heard were adjourned until the sth of February. There were twelve civil cases for recovery of rates, all but one of which • were settled out of Court, or the ' amount claimed paid into Court, the. one case being adjourned,
