All entries must be made subject to the condition that all disputes, claims and objectious arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and that such decision shall bo final and binding in all ca«es, Nominations for Handicap Hurdle Race, Taratahi-Carterton Jockey Club Handicap, and Anniversary Handicap, to be made in writing, stating name, pedigree, performances, description and age of horse and the colors of rider, and to be sent in accompanied by the nomination ice to the Hon. Secretary, O. H. Giles, Carteiton, on or before THURSDAY, the 3rd January, ISB4, at 9 p.m. Weights to be declared ou or before TUESDAY, Sth January, 1884, and published in the local newspapers, Acceptances and general entries to be made on or before WEDNESDAY, 16th January, 1884 at 8 p.m. Three cut'icsor thepub'ic money will be withheld. No protest will be considered unless lodged with the Secretary within fifteen minutes after the race, and accompanied by a deposit of two pounds, which shall be forfeited if the Stewards are of opinion that tho protest is frivolous or vexatious. All jockeys to rido in the colors nominated or a line of Isoy, will be enforced. The saddling bell will ring at 11.30 a.m., first raco to start at 12 noon sharp.
