CARTERTON SPORTS.
The Carterton sports yesterday were well attended and a great success. Over £2B was'taken at the gates, a sum in excess of the amount anticipated by the Managing Committee. The programme was carried out faithfully, and the judging satisfactorily, the only decision in whicha protest was lodged being in the Carterton Handicap against H. Hempton on the ground that he had not stated his previous performances. Tho settling up' does not as in Masterton.take place on the ground, but at the White Hart hotel on Friday evening next.
