The trial of tho ten Fenians for blowing up the Glasgow Gasworks was concluded to-day, Five of the prisoners wero sentenced to penal servitude for life, and five to seven years. PAP, ' December 21. Tho reported capture of Soutay fortress by the French troops has been fully confirmed by despatches from Tonquin. The garrison fought with great determination for seven hours, and witli heavy loss, The fighting was prolonged until night, when the garrison escaped under cover of the darkness, The French lost six officers and 69 men,
