Tho Borough Council haye passed a resolution recommending the burgesses to vote for the raising of a loan of iSOOO for the eroction of gas works within the borough. THE MISSING CREW OF THE SARAH HUNT. OnnisTcpßCH, December 13. The Chamber of Commerce, at a meoting to-day, passed a resolution expressing the deepest regret and indignation at tho diiatoriness of the Ministry re sending a vessel to search for the missing seamen on the Auckland Islands, and agreed that, failing immediate action on the part of the Government, a steamer should be at once chartered and dispatched, the cost be afc once defrayed by public subscription. The sum of £630 was guaranteed at the meeting.
