The above races to.be run undor the Lower Valley Jockey Club Rules, with tho exoeption of the two steeplechase races, whioh will be strictly run under the New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase Rules, except where otherwise specified in this programme. The saddling bell will ring at 11,30 a,m.. and the first race start at 12 o'clock noon sharp. The time for starting each event will bo duly posted on the course after each preceding race, In case of a protest, tho samo must be lodged with .the Secretary within fifteen minutes after the race has been run; with a depositor 2 sovs, such doposii to be forfeited if the protest be considered trivial or vexatious.
