THE TINUI RABBIT NUISANCE COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the above was held at the Tinui Publio Hall on Saturday last. Present—Messrs R. Maunsoll, B. Clifton, J. Grovos, H. Elder, J. Williams, and T, Mackay. ' ; ,• 'i,''''. " • ) Mt' Mackay was appointed chairman, and read the resolutions passed by the publio meeting appointing the present committee. It was resolved that four members of the committee form a quorum. It was moved by Mr Clifton, seconded by Mr Maunsell, and carried—. ; ■. • That circulars embodying the following questions be sent to all property owners who have used natural enemies for the destruction of rabbits: (1) "What effeot has the turning out of ferrets or other natural enemies had in reducing the rabbit pest on your property ? (2) What is the area of the property on which they have been turned out and the oharaeter of it 1 (3) What number have, been turned out? (4) What was the approximate number of rabbits killed per day by meu witb/doEjs and the number poiioued previous to the use of ferrets ? (6) Daring how many years have you turned out ferrets? (6) Do many die of exposure after being turned out? (7) Do,you think ferrets will die on cold clay oountry?," v (8) Have you tokoep up the Btockbyvturmngoutrelays? .(8) Would i you recommend breeding thoman hatches or in the open in enclosures? .(10) Previous to turning them out do train,.thorn by giving them rabbits to •-HIW. !
