The winner to become the absolute property of the Stewards, and to be sold by public auction 10 minutes after the race, the proceeds to go to the raco funds; post entry 1 sov. RULES AND REGULATIONS. To be run under the the Masterton* Opaki Jockey Club Rules. The Saddling 801 l will ring at 11.30 each day, and the first race start at 12 o'clock. Tho time for starting each event will bo duly posted on the courso after each preceding race. Hack Raceß are open to horses that never won an advertised raco other than Hack Races; or that have not run for an advertised race tor six months previous to date of meeting, Tho District Race is open to all horses owned in the district at least six months previous to this raco meeting. In case of a protest the same must bo lodged with the Secretary within 15 minutes after the race has been run, with a deposit of £2, such deposit to be forfeited if the protest bo found trivial or vexatious. Tho winner of the first day's Hack Race will not allowed to run for the one on the second day. No person will bo allowed to enter a horse for any. race (Hack Raco excepted) unless he bo a subscriber of at least £1 to the race fund. No scratching of horses allowed, unless through tho Secretary, and fifteen minutes before the time of starting. Entries for Maiden Plate and nominations for Railway Plate Handicap, Opaki Stakes Handicap, District Handicap, and Hurdle Handicap to be made in writing and addressed to the Hon, Secretary, Masterton, not later than 9 o'clock on THURSDAY evening, NOVEMBER Btb. Entrance money enclosed 1 with name, age at tbe time of entry, pedigree, and in tho caso of handicaps, performances of tho horse, name of owner, and colors of tho rider. Any jockey riding except in tho colors entered will be fined 2 sovs. No entries will bo received after that night either by letter or telegram.
