A BELLICOSE CLERGYMAN.; Ashburton, November 2. The Eev Mr Layard, Church of England curate at Tinwald, yesterday accosted a gentleman and exclaimed, " I want to fight you." The accosted person replied, "We are only supposed to fight against the devil," The Rev Mr Layard retorted by saying, " I am the devil," and immediately struck his companion a violent blow in the face, He was arrested after committing other insane acts, such as putting his fist through a window, and to-night the rev gentleman was sent to the Sunnyside Lunatic Asylum, The unfortunate gentleman is evidently out of his mind,
