THE PREMIER AT AUCKLAND.
Auckland, October 29. Nothing has yet transpired as to the appointment of an Auckland member to the Cabinet. Major Atkinson had an intorviow with Mr Whitaker this morning, and also conversations with Auckland members, A meeting of the Chamber of Commmerce takes place to-morrow, for the purpose of drafting resolutions regarding the route of the Southern extension of the railroad'fl'om To A,wamutu. The resolutions will be presented to the Premier to-morrow. The Premier expresses his intention to visit Auckland during the summer and stay several weeks. He also expressed surprise at the rapid strides made by Auckland and the signs of prosperity everywhere visible.'
