The Court of Inquiry appointed to investigate the,- circumstances under which the Orient steamship, Austral foundered in Port Jackson, on November 11, last year, has concluded its sittings, and delivered judgment to-day. The Court finds that the capsizing of the vessel was due to water entering tne after ports through the coaling being carried on at one side of the vessel for tod long a time causing, her to heel over. . The ship isj however, proclaimed to be perfectly stable in every respect. The casualty was due to a series of small mistakes, none of which are held to bo sufficiently'serious to justify the Court in dealing with the officers' certilicates. Tho Court added a rider, drawing attention to the blameworthy practice of sending ships to sea before they have been inclined and their stability calculated. The inquiry, which was most-critical and exhaustive, has lasted a fortnight,
