PUBLIC NOTICE is he eby given that at a meeting of the Counoil to be held on the Bth November next, it is proposed to make, by special order, By-laws, to come into operation on the Ist April, 1804, for the following purposes-that is to say: 1. Limiting the maximum weight to be carried on two wheeled vehicles with tires of less than 5 inches in width to 14 tons, 2. And on four wheeled vehicles with less than 5 inch tires, 2J tons. 3. Providing for the proper inspection vehicles and their loads. 4. Providing a penalty not' exceeding £2 for a first conviction, and not exceeding £5 for any subsequent conviction of the same person for breaches of the by-laws. 5. Making the By-laws applicable to existing metalled roads in the County, and such as may become metalled from time to time. A copy of the proposed By laws is deposited at the office of the Council, Masterton, and may be inspected by any ratepayer during office hourn.
