CORRESPONDENCE.
A TRAVELLER'S COMPLAINT,
Sir,—Will you kindly publish the following :-I herewith give a brief sketch of my last visit to the beautiful township of Tenui, and the first-class accommodation for man and beast, at the Tenui Hotel. On reaching the " pub".l gave ray horse in charge to a distinguished looking groom, who assured me that my horse would' have every attention. As for the treatment to myself, and the general conducting of the hotel I will say nothing as I cannot do justice to it. But I will give a discription of the livery. After breakfast I ordered my. horse: half an hour afterwards to my astonishment and disgust I was told that most likely my horse was in the public pound, but that he would be all right. It proved that my horse was not in the pound, so I went in search and found him on " old Sam's" run, a place adjoining the hotel paddocks. I led my horse to the stable and asked for a feed, but the next trouble was « We have no oats!" 11l conclusion I will mention that there is a.share-of the-above-mis-management to be •blamed to the Licensing Bench for not compelling better accommodation to be kept at country hotels. I am Ac, A Traveller.'
