I TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON, TN tno Wairarapa, the cole- ' X brated thoroughbred horse, L Danebury, DANEBURY is own brother to Adamant, winner of. the last Dunedin Cup, in the fastest lime that has yet been recorded, viz, 3 minutes 54 seconds by the far-famed sire Trndueer, dam Ada (winner of the Cantaibiiry Derby), by St. Auby.i (sire of Toitoi, Harakckc, and Una, dams' of Kakap">, Harnby, Korari, Perfume, Ariel, &c.,) granddam Princess, by Gratia (sire of Dinab), dam of that wonderful marc Musidora, who produced amoDgst others the following noted horses:—Miss Jessie (winner V.K.O. Derby) Belphegor, Sea Spray (winners V.C.It. nud 5.A..T.0. StLegersf, Jirosis (winner V.UC. Derby, Oaks, and Melbourne Cup) and South Hamilton (winner V.R.0.2 year old stakes.) TiUDUOKIt. The following day he carried 71bs penalty, and won the ChrMchurch Plate, two miles, weight for age, beating Templetpn, Dead Heat, and others; time, 3mia Mm. At Auckland, ran second to Perfume for the Racing Club Handicap, giving him two yoais and lOlbs. Won Auckland Derby, aud ran second to Ariel for tho Auckland Gup-Ariel, 4 years, Bst 21bs; Danebury, 3 years, 7st 121bs. At the Dunedin Autumn Meeting, ran second for the Derby, having behind him Fallacy, Bribery, Hippocampus, and several others. As a 4 year old, carrying top weight, won the Waitaki Cup, County Plate, J.C. Handicap, and' Champagne Stakes, welter weight for age. At Gcraldine he won the Cup and J,C. Handicap, carrying top weight. At Ashburton he won tho Cup, carrying top weight. At tho Canterbury Metropolitan Meeting, carrying Sat 71ba t ran third iu the CJ.C. Handicap, wonb/Mata, Cat 51b; Ariel, 5 years, Bst 101b, second. Ran second to Trump Card, for the C.C. Plate, after a desperate race of two miles, giving him lfllbs; time, 3min, 44scc. At Tauhcrcnikau, won Wairarapa Stakes, 3 miles, beating Lara and Otupia, he carrying 9st w.f.a, Ran second to-Ms stable companion, Mufti, 6st 51bs, in the IV.J.C. Handicap (this race ho could have won easily had he been allowed), As a 5 jear old at tho Canterbury Metropolitan Meeting he won the Free Handicap, carrying top weight, Oat, one mile, beating Foul Play, Camballo, Sinking Fund, Luna, Lara, and others; time, lmin 46see. Won the Railway Plate, weight for age, halfmile, and the l.etropolitan Handicap, carrying Bst 41b, lj miles, having behind him' Fish-hook, Ariel, Longlands, Natator, Bribery and others. As a 6-year old served at a stud, As a 7-year old (and while performing stud duties) ho won the Lyell's Bay Cup, carrying 9st 121b, 1J miles, and the. Wairarapa Jockey Club Handicap, 2 miles, carrying 7st lOlbs, in a canter. Time 3min! Msec. It will bo seen from Danebury's great perfarrmnces that lie could beat the flyers for a. mile, and stay any distance under big weights.
