MASTERTON CRICKET CLUB.

• The annual meeting of the Masterton Cricket Club was held last evening in Messrs Beard k Gray's, olce, Mr Beard being voted to. the chair. A '. balance sheet of the past season was read, shewing a small cash balance; in hand, with assets £lO, and liabilities nil; Messrs Beard and Rapp were appointed auditors. Mr McKenzie won the bat presented by Mr Caselberg for the highest scorer last season, with an average of 11-1 ,runs per innings;. It was resolved to present a ball to Mr W. D'Arcy for the best average bowler last season.

The following officers were' elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr W. G. Beard; vice-Presidents, Messrs W. H. Beetham and F. G. Moore; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr Wickerson , (re-elected);' General CommitteeMessrs McKenzie, Harrison, O'Connor, J, Williams, C. Perry, and Rev. L, M. Isitt; Ground Committee—Rev. Isitt, and Messrs Wickerson and J. Williams; Custodian, Mr J. Williams. The ground committee were requested to report at a j meeting to bo held on Thursday evening next as to the best means of procuring a ground for the season, • „

A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr J. H. Corbett for the use of his paddock last season, and also to, the Fire Brigade for use of engine to water the ground. It was resolved that the annual sub-' scription be ss, " The secretary was instructed to obtain the assets and liabilities of the Borough Cricket Club to lay before the next meeting with a view of taking the same over,

Mr Beard offered a bat for the highest average scorer during the next season, the average to be not less than Beven runs per innings, the winner to play,, in not less than three matches. ' The meeting then adjourned till next Thursday evening at 7.30.
