Serious rioting has oceurred in the town of Coatbridge, Lanark, Scotland, between Protestants and Catholics. Several police were wounded. While thirteen men were being hauled to the surface at the mining, town of Redruth, Cornwall, the rope broke, and the men were precipitated to the bottom of the shaft and instantly killed.
