A meeting of the shareholders of the Mastertqn Theatre Royal Co was held at the Empire hotel last night to consider im application from Mr George Ooker to lease the Theatre Eoyal for three years at a rental of £220 per annum. The offer was accepted conditionally on the lessee providing front seats for the theatre, suoh seats to be taken over at the expirmg of his lease. Mr Ooker declined to lease on this condition, and for the present the matter is undecided.

At. the meeting of Court Loyal Enterprise No 5501 A. O.F. held last evening, it was decided'to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of the Court on 20; h September next, by a festive gathering of foresters with their wives, children, and sweethearts. A commit tee consisting of the past and present officers »f the Court was appointed to mako arrangements for a picnic or dinner or such other form of celebrating the anniversary as will bo likely lo' meet the approval of the membors. A meeting of St John's Vestry, Featherston, was held yesterday. Present— I 'Eev Mr Western (Chairman), Messrs J. G ;Coxi W. Hodder, J; Vile, ;J. D. Oakly, ,'A. Oampbell, W. Toogood, W, Gilpin, H. |.E. Tuokey, and J, D. Cox. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from the Biahop, ro General Church Fund, and asking the advice of the Vestry ro the same.' In reply, a resolution was passed by the meeting thanking his lordship for -the - circular received, but regretting their inability of advising any means of liquidating the debt of the General Church Fund. A letter was read from the Eev H. Vere White, thanking his Featherston friends' on hehilf of himself and Mrs . White for their kindness.in meeting them at the station the morning of their departure for Kaiapoi. A rather animated discuaaiou then took place re the removal of tho vestry account from the Bank of Australasia to the Bank of New Zealand by Mr H, B Tuckey, and it was unanimously losolved at the suggestion of the Eev Mr Western that the account be replaced in the Bank of Australasia.
