ST. PETERSBURG, August 8, A bomb was exploded to-day in a street of this city, but, although there were d, number of people about at the timp, no one was injured. The perpetrator of the outrage, however, was not dotected, ADELAIDE,. August 9. . In the Legislative Assembly. last Jiiglit a motion by Mr Ward in favor of uniting in general action of the colonies in regard to the annexation of New Guinea and the New Hebrides was rejected on a division. The motion was opposed by the Government, bi|t at the same time Mr Bray, Premier, announced that he had-accepted an invitation of Victoria to join in the proposed conference on the annexation question. Later news to band from Barcelona is that a number of insurgents who 1 had congregated near that town have dispersed, owing to intelligence that a force of troops was on its way to the scene.
