Received July 57,0.50 a.m.—Orders have been issued by the War Office for the removal of a portion of the British troops now in Egypt to the Island of Cyprus, unless some abatement in the virulence of the cholera epidemic is speedily effected. ADELAIDE, Friday. The Colonial Treasurer made his Financial Statement in the House of Assembly last night. It showed that the revenue during the last financial year was £2,090,000, and the expenditure £2,230,000. The estimates of the revenue for the current year is at £2,170,000, and the expenditure at £2,350,000, In order to meet the deficiency it is decided to impose a tax of a. penny in the pound on real and personal property. This is estimated to yield £160,000. The Treasurer showed that tho railways pay 2J per cent on the capital invested, and announced that it was intended to increase the immigration vote to £40,000.
