THE LAND BOARD.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Waste Lands Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs Bunny (in , the chair), Beetham, Mason, and.W. Waving Taylor. The' schedule of land sold since last meeting showed that % acres, roalising £ll4, had been disposed of. Mr Beetham moved tho. following resolution:—" That section No, i, Blook' X, Mangnone, bo changed from a cash section to a deferred payment section, ai)d ; that the price bo altered from : .£2 to-30s per acre," Mr Mason moved, as an amendment," That'the price be I2per acre." and after'some discuaaibn chc resolution thus amended was carried, A letter was read from Mr. D, Chatnier oovering a petition convening from Pahia'. tua Bottlers asking the Board to raovo tho Gpvomniemt to set apart a portion of the township reserve (promised as a site for a cemetery and park) as a burial ground. It was resolved that the, Minister for Lands' should be requested' to reserve a suitable site in tho township reserve, hot exceeding ten acres, for a cemetery for the Pahialua block, A letter was read from Mr McCardle, of Masterton,jaskingjj for permission to hand over, to the, Piihiatua settlers two abres !; of' hia ! deterred payment section, No. 26 Block iVni' ) i Mangalioß,'f(Jr a school 'Bite, and it' was resolved to ask the Government to consent to this arrangement,-; if "it: was found-, such-.could'be entered., into. ,-A resolution was mpved.by Mr Mason,' "That copies of all papera /relatingi.to anyllahd sale in the Provincial District. should be Beut I; tp ; all ; Postmaßters;;at;leaßt-a.w,oek previous to any sale, and, that,,thelatjon,;. jtion of the public be ( dra'wnJo this'ja'ot by m'eanr 'of advertisements' 1 m J the'n'ewsV papers."
